About Me

Hey Everyone! I am currently a second year medical student at UNMC and I'm taking my first solo international trip. I thought I would write a bit while on my trip so that I can keep everyone informed and also document my experiences. I am a pretty well traveled person and have been to many different countries on four continents. It is my eventual goal to travel to all seven continents. I've been traveling to international destinations since the age of 10, thanks to my wonderful parents who encouraged my siblings and I to venture to new places. I probably got my travel bug from my mom who was a German teacher for years and years. I grew up with her taking trips all the time and as soon as I was introduced to international travels when we took a family trip to Germany, I was hooked. I studied abroad for a semester in college and then when I graduated, I joined Teach For America and was placed in Newark, NJ. Luckily, I had a few international airports in my backyard and every chance I got, I took a trip during my fall, spring and summer breaks. Now, I'm back in Omaha and it's a little bit harder for me to just jump on a plane to Europe but I'm gonna make it work. Even if that means taking out some extra student loans! So, here I go on my first adventure as a medical student.
